Let's go – Cleaning grout step by step
Here is a brief example of how you can clean bathroom grout. We are assuming cement grout joints that are dirty but have at most minimal mould growth. Simply use bicarbonate of soda, which is cheap and effective.
Make the cleaning paste
Mix three parts bicarbonate of soda with one part water (a ratio of 3:1) to form a homogeneous paste. Sometimes it is recommended to add a splash of vinegar.
Apply the paste
Apply the mixture to the grout with a toothbrush and leave for about 45 minutes.
Clean the grout
Then wet your battery-operated cleaning brush or the DIY brush attachment and scrub each joint thoroughly.
Wipe clean
Rinse the grout with plenty of clean water and wipe dry with a cotton cloth.
And then you’re done!
